Helping Yvonne

This is a picture of me helping a student. Yvonne was on a course several years ago and with Erica runs her own school in north London.

All my courses are very practical with lots of hands-on sessions for you to try out each new technique or idea. In the body awareness workshops (or, rather, playshops) most of the time is spent in some form of movement or experience of your body.   → MORE

I aim to make the courses accessible to all through having lots of hands-on practice. I have had (almost) blind students and dyslexic students and I will always do my best to support them in their learning.

One student with dyslexia could not read the manual so we gave him a free second year of the course. I asked him to write about some cases and the response has been that it helped in improving his writing. He was grateful for that. And he says his reading has improved also.

In class I make sure that I visit each student to see how their practice is going. I assist where needed.

On the movement days, we have a lot of fun - you can see a piture of one in the gallery at the foot of the About Spineworks page. A lot of time is spent rolling on the floor and playing with balls! These are usually organised by someone who is interested and they advertise and find a venue local to them.

Great fun and you learn a great deal abouit your body - not in theory but in practice.
